Here is a small selection of some walking routes you can take to explore the area.
ENCHANTING TALES, SPIRITUAL VIBES, AND LEGENDARY WONDERS
Old trail to San Andrés de Teixido
A route of ancient tradition, full of rituals, traditions, and legends. The visit to the Sierra de A Capelada, the village, and the Sanctuary of San Andrés is unforgettable. Moreover, if you don’t go in life, you’ll go once you die… so it’s worth it!
CLIFFS AND BEACHES
Route “das Ondas”
Route to enjoy the views from the cliffs and beaches of Villarrube, Baleo, Pantín, and A Frouxeira. Along the way, you’ll take in the scenery from various viewpoints, such as O Paraño (pictured). You can also stroll along the Valdoviño lagoon, which, together with the A Frouxeira sandy beach, constitutes an environmental area protected under the designation of Natural Space under General Protection. The route concludes at Meirás Lighthouse in Valdoviño.
EASY FAMILY-FRIENDLY ROUTE
Punta Robaleira
This is a simple and perfect route for families and children, very close to the urban center of Cedeira. It’s a circular route of about 6 kilometers to Punta Robaleira. The route is quite popular in the summer due to its beautiful coves and easy path. However, we will take a variant here through a small trail that was once only used by a few fishermen and was reclaimed a few years ago by the Candieira de Cedeira Club.
SPECTACULAR VIEWS FROM THE TERRACE
O Puntal – As Forcadas
This route can be done starting from either of the two houses. It’s a circular route with a moderate difficulty level. It doesn’t have many steep inclines and passes through quite wooded and peaceful areas. It’s important to follow the signs at the trail intersections carefully.
